For the first post of this column, rather than focusing on a specific health concern or benefit of veganism I will focus on providing a broad answer to the broad question:
“Is it healthy to be a vegan?” The short answer: yes!
According to the American Dietetic Association and Dietitians of Canada, “well-planned vegan and other types of vegetarian diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including during pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence.”
